मित्रांनो, उद्योजकाचा जन्म होतो तो उद्योगासंबंधीची संधी शोधण्यापासून, उद्योजक हा  जोखीम घेणारा असतोच, उद्योजकाला गुणवत्तेचा ध्यासही असतो, आपले उत्पादन इतरांपेक्षा कसे चांगले राहावे याकडेही तो नेहमी लक्ष देतो, उद्योजक धेय्यवादीही  असतो त्याला निश्चित उद्दिष्ट्ये गाठावयाची असतात परंतू उद्योजकाच्या अंगी सर्वात महत्वाचा गुण असणे आवश्यक आहे तो काटकसरीपणा, उभारलेल्या उद्योगात अनावश्यक खर्च होत नाही ना? दैनंदिन व्यवहारात आपल्या मुबलक संसाधनांचा वापर पुरेपूर वापर होतो आहे का?  या गोष्टी त्याला कळल्या पाहिजे अन्यथा उद्योगाचा आर्थिक ताळमेळ बसणार नाही आणि अचानक उद्योग नियोजनाअभावी  बंद पडेल.
मित्रांनो, नफा मिळवणे हा प्रत्येक उद्योगाचा अपरिहार्य हेतू असतो, तोट्यात कुणी उद्योग करावा अशी जनभावना कधीच नसते. उद्योग करणाऱ्या प्रत्येकाला दोन पैसे कमावले पाहिजेत असेच वाटते. बऱ्याच नवं-उद्योजकांना झटपट मोठे व्हावे असे वाटते, आणि त्यात गैरही काहीच नाही. परंतू आपल्या व्यवसायात प्रगती करण्यासाठी आणि नफा मिळविण्यासाठी आपण जी गुंतवणूक  म्हणजेच ऑपरेशनल कॉस्ट लावतो आहे ती हळू-हळू नफ्यापेक्षा वाढत तर नाही ना? याकडेही आपले लक्ष असले पाहिजे. 
तसे बघितले तर, उद्योगात उत्पादनाबरोबरच त्याचे ब्रॅँडिंग, नव्या बाजारपेठांचा शोध आणि मार्केटिंग या बाबीही खूप महत्त्वाच्या असतात. सध्या उद्योगात   कुशल मनुष्यबळाचा, व्यावसायिक तंत्राचा वानवाच आहे. उद्योगांसमोरही ही एक मोठी समस्या आहे. बऱ्याचदा उद्योगात आवश्यकतेपेक्षा अधिक मनुष्यबळ  लावले जाते, परंतू  कमी मनुष्यबळात उत्पादन घडविणे, ब्रॅँडिंग करणे  आणि नवीन बाजारपेठांचा शोध घेऊन मार्केटिंगही करणे केवळ हाताच्या बोटावर मोजता येतील एवढ्याच उद्योजकांना हे शक्य होते.      
नफा जास्त ठेवावा ही कमी ठेवावा, हे ज्याचे त्याने ठरवायचे असते. नफा जास्त असेल तर विक्री कमी होईल व नफा कमी असेल तर विक्री अधिक होईल. दोन्ही पर्यायात नफा मिळतोच. परंतु पहिल्या पर्यायात जास्त कमाई होते असे वाटते, पण ते तसे नसते. दुसऱ्या पर्यायातच जास्त नफा मिळतो. शिवाय ग्राहक संख्याही दुसऱ्या पर्यायातच अधिक असते. उद्योगामध्ये लागणारे मनुष्यबळ हे ही मोठे भांडवल समजले जाते. कमी मनुष्यबळात अधिक ग्राहकांशी जोडणे  हा नफ्याचा भाग समजला जातो. त्यामुळे तुम्हाला हे फायद्याचे सूत्र लक्षात आले पाहिजे.   
मित्रांनो, वॉरेन बुफेट यांनी अतिशय महत्वाचा विचार उद्योजकांसाठी दिला आहे आणि तो म्हणजे,”जर तुम्ही अनावश्यक अशा गोष्टी खरेदी केल्या, तर लवकरच तुम्हाला आवश्यक असलेल्या गोष्टीही विकाव्या लागतील",  उद्योजकांनो याचा अर्थ असा की  जर तुम्हाला तुमचा उद्योग अथवा व्यवसाय करण्यासाठी जास्त लोकांची टिम लागत असेल तर तुम्ही चुकीच्या पद्धतीने व्यवसाय करत आहात आणि तुम्ही संकटात आहात. 
जर  तुम्ही आपला व्यवसाय आणि आपलं प्रॉडक्ट कमीत कमी माणसांमध्ये जास्तीत जास्त लोकांपर्यंत पोहचवत नसाल तर तुमची ओप्रेशनल कॉस्ट नक्कीच वाढत असेल आणि ओप्रेशनल कॉस्ट वाढीमुळे आपण आपला व्यवसाय संपुष्ठात आणत आहात, आपण आपला मेंटेनन्स कॉस्टही वाढवत आहात व त्यामुळे आपल्याला नफाही  कमी होत असेल.
