दीपाली गोएंका : शुन्यापासून करोडोचा यशस्वी उद्योग करणारी एक महिला उद्योजिका


छोटा व्यवसाय अनेक महिला करतात आणि आपली गृहिणीची भुमिका सांभाळून कुटुंबाला आर्थिक पाठबळ 

देतात. मोठा व्यवसाय करण्याचं स्वप्नही बघतात. पण ते स्वप्न पुर्ण करण्याची हिम्मत कुठेतरी त्यांच्यात 

कमी पडत असते. ती हिम्मत कमावण्यासाठी दीपाली गोएंका यांनी दाखवलेलया जिद्द आणि चिकाटीचं कौतुक 

कारण्याजोगंच आहे. 

जयपूरमध्ये जन्मलेल्या दीपाली गोएंकाने महारानी गायत्री देवी कन्या ’शाळेत शिक्षण घेतले. १९८० च्या 

उत्तरार्धात कौटुंबिक परिस्थितीमुळे दीपाली गोएंका यांचे लग्न झाले परंतु त्यांनी पुढे अभ्यास चालू ठेवला 

आणि मानसशास्त्रातील स्पेशलायझेशनसह पदवी पूर्ण केली. याचदरम्यान, त्यांच्या मुली राधिका आणि 

वंशिका तिच्या विश्वाचे केंद्र बनल्या आणि गोएंका आनंदाने गृहिणीच्या भूमिकेत शिरली. 

२००२ मध्ये दीपाली गोएंका यांनी पहिल्यांदा वेलस्पन कार्यालयात प्रवेश केला. तेव्हा व्यवसायात त्यांचा प्रवेश 

झाल्याबद्दल तीव्र शंका व्यक्त केली जात होती. मानसशास्त्रात काम करणारी गोएंका यांच्याकडे वस्त्रोद्योगात 

नवशिक्या आणि आपल्या बॉसची पत्नी म्हणूनच पहिले जात होते. त्या काळात त्यांच्यासोबत घडलेल्या 

गोष्टींचे वर्णन प्रतिबिंबित करताना त्या म्हणतात, “अशा प्रकारच्या टिप्पण्यांमुळे त्या वेळी थोडंसं दु:ख 

व्हायचं. पण कठोर परिश्रम करण्याचा आणि मी या कंपनीला काय देऊ शकते हे पाहण्याचा माझा संकल्प खूप 

दृढ होता." स्वतःची वेगळी ओळख निर्माण करण्यासाठी त्यांनी 'स्पेसेस' नावाचा नवीन ब्रँड तयार केला. गोएंका 

यांच्या अधिपत्याखाली २ वर्षात या कंपनीची चांगली उलाढाल झाली आणि २०१३ मध्ये त्यांनी वेलस्पन या 

कंपनीच्या जॉईंट मॅनेजिंग डायरेक्टर म्हणून काम करायला सुरुवात केली.    

गोएंका यांच्या नेतृत्वात, वेलस्पनने स्पेसेस आणि क्रिस्टी सह त्यांच्या ब्रँडच्या पोर्टफोलिओमध्ये विविधता 

आणली. परंतु हा निर्णय सोपा जरी असला तरी, प्रवास मात्र तेवढा सोपा नव्हता. खरेदी आणि उत्पादनाच्या 

मूलभूत गोष्टी शिकण्यापासून वितरक आणि किरकोळ विक्रेत्यांशी संभाषण करण्यापर्यंत, गोयंका यांनी सर्व 

केले. २००५ मध्ये हार्वर्ड बिझिनेस स्कूल कडून तीन वर्षाचा मालक / अध्यक्ष व्यवस्थापन प्रोग्राम देखील त्यांनी 

पूर्ण केला. त्यांनतर मुख्य बदल घडण्यास सुरुवात झाली.  

एका मुलाखतीमध्ये बोलतांना त्या म्हणाल्या, “टॉवेल आणि चादरींबद्दल काय करावे लागेल हे पाहण्यासाठी मी 

फक्त कारखान्यात जात नव्हते, तर स्टोअरमध्ये जाऊन ग्राहकांच्या वागण्याचे निरीक्षणही करायचे." त्यांच्या 

या क्षमतेमुळे बेड, बाथ आणि रग ओलांडून वेलस्पनला टॉप-एंड उत्पादनांसह ग्राहकांच्या गरजा लक्षात घेता 

आल्या. ही उत्पादने सध्या 50 देशांमध्ये विकली जातात. आज अमेरिकेत विकले जाणारे प्रत्येक पाचवे टॉवेल 

वेलस्पनद्वारे उत्पादित आहे.   

फोर्ब्स मासिकाच्या म्हणण्यानुसार दीपाली गोएंका सध्या भारतातील चौथी श्रीमंत महिला उद्योजिका ठरल्या
